8 years ago, George W. Bush got elected President of the United States of America in the most controversial race for the Presidency in history. Probably one of the biggest mistakes ever made in the history of America. It was like electing a baboon to the Presidency. Barely a week ago, as many of you know, Barack Obama became the first African-American to be elected to the highest office in the US. On January 20, 2009, he will be inaugurated and the tumultous, disastrous term of George W. Bush in office will finally be over. Have you ever wondered how such an incompetent moron ever took office in the first place? Well this movie which I'm about to review, explains it all beautifully.

First of all i am very sorry for the lateness of this review. I'm afraid to say that stupid HBO only showed the film for like 6 days, the last day being the 6th of November. But if you really wanna watch the movie, you could always *ahem* download *ahem* using *ahem* torrent. Sorry there was something stuck in my throat.
The movie is about the controversy of the 2000 US Presidential Election between a-the-time Vice-President Al Gore and at-the-time Texas Governor George W. Bush. The movie starts off on election day in 2000 and ends when the US Supreme Court delivered its decision in the Bush v. Gore hearing. There were some inconsistencies in the results of the votes casted in Florida which leaned towards Bush's advantage. Being a big state with 25 electoral votes at stake, the winner of Florida would have also won the Presidency. This movie is about the brave and unending fight by Al Gore's campaign team to recount the votes in the state of Florida. After an ensuing legal battle which took the fight for the Presidency to the Florida Supreme Court then the US Supreme Court, the victory went to Bush and so started the madness of the past 8 years.
I thought that this movie was acted out perfectly. Kevin Spacey did a wonderful job. And I thought the cinematography added to the effect of feeling like I was there in the room when things were all so tense. There are so many details in this movie I could never give it all to you. So, watch the movie to learn what really happened 8 years ago.
If you're the political type, or just wrapped up in all the election hype right now, i suggest you watch this movie. If you really really want to watch the movie, tell me. I'll get it for you *ahem ahem*. Haha. But if you're looking for a movie to watch with your family, or your boy/girlfriend, this ain't the movie you're looking for. Overall i thought the movie was an excellent one. Totally captivating.
I rate it 4 out of 5 hangingchads. (watch the movie and you'll understand)
As ever, I have a trailer for your viewing pleasure. It wont make much sense unless you know what happened in 2000. So watch the movie.
